From the dataset abstract

The aim of the dataset is to identify potential new locations for services and operations along the Helsinki shore route.

The data has been collected through an internal map survey at the City of Helsinki Urban Environment Division, detailed planning and regional planning. The responses to the map survey were mainly collected through oral interviews with architects and regional planners responsible for planning and regional planning. The data has been refined and supplemented with the help of existing detailed plans, reports and other material of the City of Helsinki in public distribution. The interviews were conducted between 23 May and 28 June 2019, and the data were compiled in their final form in September 2019.

The dataset is part of the Helsinki Maritime Strategy. It helps in the planning of the Helsinki shore route and the placement of services in the area. It is a tool for entrepreneurs planning activities in the area by the sea, for interested city residents and for city employees working on the topic.

The data illustrates the planning situation of the areas and the aim of the detailed planning regarding the location of services in the shoreline areas of Helsinki. It is not a complete representation of all the possibilities of the shoreline area and is not intended to exclude the possibility of operations other than those mentioned in this data. In terms of temporary operations, the data is not as comprehensive as in terms of long-term operations.

The data is available for download in several formats, including JSON, KML, GIF, Tiff, GeoTiff, JPEG, PNG CSV, Esri Shape. Available formats can always be found under OutputFormat in the GetCapabilities query for the service.

Coordinate systems:

• Maintained in ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879), can be projected to other coordinate systems. See GetCapabilities query for other possible coordinate systems.
