Relative surface area of urban type land cover in Turku

The data is a raster layer, in which the attribute data is the relative surface area of urban land cover within a certain-sized area around each pixel. There are different raster layers for various-sized areas, in which the radius of calculation area is 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 400 m, 500 m, 700 m and 1000 m. The value 0 means that there is no urban land cover at all, and the value 1 means that the urban land cover’s proportion is 100% within, for example, five-hundred-meter radius around the pixel. The material has been produced from CORINE Land Cover 2018 dataset by reclassifying the original data based on the results of correlation analyses between air temperature and different land cover classes. The data is produced as part of the HERCULES consortium/project funded by the Academy of Finland’s Climate Change and Health (CLIHE) research program implemented during the years 2020-2023.
