From the dataset abstract

This dataset is associated with the dynamic report titled ‘Recipients of pension benefits from Kela and average amounts of benefit’, which is part of the Kelasto statistical database. Monthly data are available since 2018. End-of-year data are available since 2008.

The dataset contains information on the following pension benefits from Kela: national pension, survivors’ pension, child increase and front-veterans’ supplement. National pension can be paid in the form of old-age pension or disability pension. Until 2014, national pension could also be paid in the form of unemployment pension.

Pension recipients include persons who during the statistical reference month have received pension benefits for said month. The average amount of benefit represents the arithmetic mean of benefit payments for and during the reference month. Retrospective payments for a period preceding the reference month are not included in the mean. The information is broken down by the recipients’ gender, age and municipality of residence as well as by benefit.
